Our Removals Process

Step One – Getting Ready

With your move confirmed, it’s time to get ruthless. We know how easy it is to hoard things over the years, but the reality is you probably won’t need to move everything in your current home into the new one. De-clutter where possible – check everywhere, from the loft to the bottom of the garden.

When it comes to unpacking again at your new home, be it in Weybridge, Walton-on-Thames, Cobham or any other location, you’ll be glad to have fewer boxes to deal with.

Step Two – Speak to Aspen Movers

When you’re ready, you need to get quotes for your moving needs. We recommend approaching two or three companies for this. It will give you a good insight on costs and the house removals services on offer. Any reputable removal company will visit you at home and check for additional charges. Take your time with this decision and make sure you choose the company that feels right for you.

Step Three – Packing & Prep

When you talk with our Weybridge-based house removals team, they will ask you if you plan to do your own packing. If yes, the quotation you receive will include the provision of boxes and paper. We recommend getting started on packing as soon as you can. There’s always more than you think! Aspen Movers provides you with portable wardrobes for your hanging clothes, and we’re always happy to help with the last bits and pieces.

If you want our removal company to pack up your home, we’ll do so with care and in line with your instructions. We also make sure you have a few boxes for personal items on moving day.

Top Tip – When packing heavier items, use a small box. This ensures it won’t become too heavy to lift.

Step Four – Moving Day

On moving day, our team will arrive on time as arranged. We lay down carpet protectors and then go about packing and moving one room at a time. Upon delivery at your new home, we will set up each room as per your instructions. This includes hanging clothes back into wardrobes and reassembling any items we have taken apart.

Most importantly at this point, we will find the essential items you need for the first night in your new home. From Weybridge to Walton-on-Thames, Cobham to Guildford, or Esher to Woking, having completed countless house removals across the South East and nationwide, we know this usually involves the kettle!

Step Five – After the Move

As a client-focused removal company, moving day isn’t the end of your service. We will pop back to your new home at a time convenient to you to check how everything is. You can ask us questions about the unpacking process or any other house removals issue. We also remove the used boxes and packing materials so you can start to feel at home.

If you have any items that you can’t find a home for straight away, we’re happy to store them in our storage facility until you need them.
